This talk presents a model transformation technology based on the OMG Generic Transformation Architecture. First part of the talk discusses objectives such as a general approach for model-to-model transformations, and specifically, UML-to-UML model transformations. A concrete transformation stack is designed using architectural principles and best practices. Separation of concerns is applied e.g. to enable reuse, scalability, programmatic application of UML profiles or automated transformation stack execution.

Second part of this talk is the hands-on demonstration of the implementation of the transformation stack, which is used to produce Java source code and Hibernate configurations from PIM models. The transformations are defined using open source tools hosted on the Eclipse platform.
